Epic Fantasy Dark Horror Fiction Selections: Season 1 EP. 3 Queen of the Damned "Chapel Black"

Inside the Chapel Black Burl, Jii, and Tycannis waited from their positions for the stranger to appear. Before their minds could register the hint of jasmine in the air, each of them was hit with a dart from a blow gun. Their eyelids closed out the light as Burl and his men slumped lifelessly into their posts.

The stranger looked around at each of the three men to make sure they were incapacitated. She started to walk toward Burl but right before she got to him, a giant 15-foot wall of flame burst from the floor between her and Burl.

The stranger threw up her hands in a defensive posture and jumped back a few yards, sliding backward as her feet touched down on the floor from her momentum. The stranger could see a dome-shaped yellowish clear magic shield form over the bodies of the men.

A woman’s voice echoed through Chapel Black from behind the stranger, ‘That is close enough, Huntress!’ ‘Haste in movement with aggressive intent would not be advisable.’ ‘A willful preference in pursuit of this activity will see your end finalize in a fiery grave built by my hands!’

The Huntress quickly swung the front of her body in the woman’s direction while drawing her dual katana-like blades as she settled into her Demastic fighting stance.

Now that she could see what and whom she was up against the Huntress answered her unknown adversary, ‘Orazha, your destiny will collide with my blades.’ ‘I will remove your hands and bring an end to your trade.’

Before the mysterious Orazha could respond, the Huntress was on the attack. Her relentless speed was like lightning bolts sizzling through their neon skies. The mysterious Orazha magically shielded herself just before the first blade was able to connect with her beltline. The violent collision created an arc of sparks that rained across the battle zone. The mysterious Orazha felt her magic shield incur damage and a thin cut materialize as the blade grazed through the skin on her hip.

Her mind was immediately impacted with the thought, 'She is using blades of enchanted Berruvian Steel.' 'So she can cut into an Orazha's magic shield.' 'Oh my, you are a clever one.' She reinforced the magic shield around her forearms and blocked the remaining attack movements from the Huntress before putting the Huntress on the defensive with a powerful Aeirlueva fireball attack.

Orazha are also highly skilled in combat with swords, 'I need to match up better with the Huntress's attack style, Oranthian Blade.' The Oranthian Blade is a solid blade conjured from Kulrah energy that is infused with their base discipline whether that be fire, ice, or lightning.

Sparks start dancing across the empty space followed by the sound of epic thunderclaps from the monumental collisions between these two warriors. The clashing sounds reverberated through the floor like mini earthquakes. With neither opponent being able to land a clean blow as their skills seemed to be equally matching at the moment.

Then an advantageous opportunity came to the mysterious Orazha as she was able to separate one of the Huntress’s blades from her hand. The Orazha immediately fired a concussive blast through the hole in the Huntress’s defense.

It was a decisive attack as the Huntress’s body wilted and her eyes rolled back.

But then the unexpected happened.

A dormant and dangerous Nova erupted from the Huntress.

The Orazha’s eyes widened as she thought to herself, ‘Impossible!’ ‘A dormant Nova of such immense power!’ How is it exploding out of someone this many days passed birth and possibly a Vampyre?’ ‘How can this be?’

Fortunately for Bolaria and everyone in it, the mysterious Orazha is also a Lady Myostopic. She quickly moved to place her hands on the Huntress to subdue her Nova.

The mysterious Orazha is named Victoria Chastain. She used to be an apprentice under Cassidra. They are part of the Hand-Fire Covenant as their base Kulrah power is derived from fire.

Cassidra asked Victoria to follow Burl to Chapel Black but keep in the shadows and observe. Revealing herself only if needed. She knew Burl’s pride would not approve until the after results proved its merits.

Cassidra asked, ‘Victoria, how are Burl and his men doing?’

Victoria responded, ‘The brutes are fine. Just sleeping it off like too much drink tilted them overnight.’ ‘Their stomachs will be twisted, and their heads will pound, but nothing there to bring on a last breath.’

Cassidra sighed, ‘Ahh, so the Huntress was probably not trying to kill them.’ ‘She was just being highly cautious with this interaction.’

Victoria said, ‘Indeed she was.’ ‘And those dual fangs in her mouth definitely indicate, Vampyre, has moved from myth to reality.’

Cassidra said, ‘Hmmm.’ ‘And she is one of us.’ ‘So interesting.’

Cassidra asked, ‘So did you find anything in the Orazha archives?’

Victoria responded, ‘No.’ ‘She is a phantom to our history.’ ‘Nothing in the Orazha registry.’ ‘There are no known stories about a Nova ever occurring and the child never being recovered by a Lady Myostopic.’

Cassidra asked, ‘Do you think this is the first time her Nova was ever released?’

Before Victoria could finish answering, ‘I….’

Victoria stopped her word flow as the Vampyre stirred to awake from her slumber.’

Then the eyes of the Vampyre opened to the light of the world again.
