Burl hears whispers that there is a stranger asking questions about the disappearances. The fearful townspeople he has spoken to have informed him that the asker of questions, is a Huntress. A monster from an almost forgotten lore that is half vampire and half human.

The Brestonin are ancient ambush predators of The Veiled Beyond. They only appear when mass deaths are occurring as the Veil becomes thin due to the heaviness of the combined sorrow. Before souls can make it through the Veil to the other side, they are devoured.
